Sonny Bill Released by the Bulldogs PDF Print E-mail

Sonny Bill Released after a deal was reached with Bulldogs, the deal broker with the help of former Australian senator and lobbyist Graham RichardsonKiwi Sonny Bill Williams  and Co Manager Anthony Mundine

Details of the settlement were not disclosed but it is believed the Bulldogs were given in the vicinity of $750,000 to allow Williams to take up a two-year deal with French rugby club Toulon.

The settlement is believed to stipulates that Williams cannot play for any other NRL club until the end of the 2012 season, though the Kiwi international has already stated his intention never to return to rugby league.

Representatives of Williams made contact with the Bulldogs after a Supreme Court ruling deemed he would be in contempt of court if he continued to play for Toulon.

After lengthy discussions between Williams' representatives and the Bulldogs, the settlement was achieved today with the club legally releasing Williams from his five-year NRL contract.

"With the backing of the Courts the point has clearly been made that a contract is binding," said Bulldogs boss Todd Greenberg.

All Blackwash All Blacks Rodney So oialo and Ritchie McCaw

Ritchie McCaw goes from great "to best ever" with a rugby god like performance, the faults of last week were erased with a comprehensive performance that keeps their Tri Nations hopes alive, working into combination with Dan Carter dominated

Two tries by Tony Woodcock was so nearly a hatrick and help erased those aweful Greg Cornelson articles we had been forced to read

Jimmy Cowan created space and timing to set alight Dan Carter as the Aussie threw away possession and position again and again

The frustration at lock was replaced by a powerful performance from Ali William's and Brad Thorn, Kaino put in the performance of the season

The All Blacks showed a lot more pride in the jersey, playing on a Eden Park set for demolition tomorrow, the victory puts the All Blacks 1 point lead in the trinations and now have the chance to decide the Tri Nations on August 16th in South Africa

Kiwis welcome Robbie Deans as a hero PDF Print E-mail
Written by Klubkiwi Team
Friday, 01 August 2008

Robbie Deans could of been forgiven for having pre flight nerves, was he returning home? or invading? Was he going to be welcomed or shunned especially considering it was Auckland he was returning to, so imaging the surprise of not only Robbie Deans but also the Wallabies, when spontaneous applause rung out through the arrivals hall, surely the first time that arriving Wallabies would of ever heard that, does this mean that some Kiwis will be supporting the "Criminal Element"?

On landing in Auckland, Deans went through customs with his players in the line that included both New Zealand and Australian passport holders. A customs officer asked if the sight of Deans arriving with the Wallabies was strange. "No," he chuckled. "Good on him."

What a strange strange time? our best known kiwi expat is Robbie Deans
